Im looking forward to meeting the students, faculty and other guest at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign tomorrow during the NOMAS Symposium. I am honored that the students invited me to lecture about Hip Hop Architecture. And what's a hip hop lecture without a DJ? Just another lecture! I have to say thank you to my DJ, Eryk Christian, who will bless my lecture and those attending with musical mastery!
The annual (NOMAS) Symposium is hosted by the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. This year's theme: "Breaking the Glass Ceiling" is geared towards raising awareness to minorities who have been able to break barriers and overcome obstacles to become successful within the field of Architecture. It will feature a special lecture from the Hip Hop Architect Michael Ford and many more activities, such as mini-lectures and round table discussions--which will be led by some professional architects and some of the School of Architecture's very own faculty.
For more information about the symposium being hosted, you can find a complete itinerary of the symposium's activities, bios of the speakers, competition info, registration, and other info on the NOMAS Symposium website (link below).
