On September 24, 2014, Michael Ford will deliver a lecture titled, "Hip Hop Inspired Architecture and Design" at the University of Detroit Mercy's School of Architecture as a part of Detroit's Design Festival.
Ford's lecture will focus on the subconscious roles of historical architectural figures in creating the environments which necessitated the birth of hip hop. While also displaying the works of architectural professionals, hip hop artists and academic institutions who all seek to create an architecture inspired by hip hop culture. His work has been the topic of articles, including publications by Harvard and University of Pennsylvania.
