Position Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Project Architect with extensive museum experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of professional experience, be a licensed architect, and be located in the Madison, Milwaukee, or Dallas-Fort Worth area. This role requires someone who can lead projects from conception through completion, ensuring design excellence and adherence to the client's vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage museum design projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.
Develop and present design concepts and proposals to clients, incorporating feedback and revisions as necessary.
Oversee the preparation of detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources efficiently.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members.
Conduct site visits and construction administration tasks to ensure adherence to design intent and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Licensed architect with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in architecture, specifically with museum projects.
Proven track record of successfully leading and managing complex museum design projects from start to finish.
Strong design and technical skills, with the ability to produce high-quality drawings and presentations.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience presenting to clients and stakeholders.
Proficiency in architectural software, including:
AutoCAD
Revit
SketchUp
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with adaptive reuse and community-centered projects.
Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED accreditation.
Location: Position is virtual, but preference will be for candidates located in Milwaukee, WI; or the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area.
