AIA Detroit Leadership Institute

Join me in Detroit as I take part in the "Leadership is Fundamental - K12 Programs" panel discussion. This is a discussion on K-12 outreach programs bringing design thinking to pre-college students, fostering a more diverse and accessible pipeline into the design profession, and demonstrating industry leadership by shedding light on the architectural design process to the public, featuring:

Andrew Dunlap, SmithGroupJJR, AIA Detroit Treasurer (Moderator)
Michael Ford, Hip Hop Architecture Camps
Kelly Lyons, AIA Detroit ABC:D Program
Bryan Cook, NOMA Project Pipeline
Tracey Alfonsi, CAM 3D Program

The Leadership Institute 2017 is a one-day leadership training event for architects and emerging professionals. Bringing together visionary speakers on leadership, both inside and outside the profession, this training experience includes:

  • leadership best practices and how to apply them in professional, industry, community, and design settings
  • a network of local and industry leaders who are changing the leadership dialogue in architecture
  • relevant content for your career and professional journey
  • leadership resources, including a free digital copy of Living Your Life as a Leader, a reference guide and workbook that will support your personal leadership development during and after the event
