Join me and Bryan C Lee Jr at SXSWEco for our seminar: "Designing A Just City: Hip Hop Architecture" on Tuesday, October 11, 4:45pm - 5:45pm.
Architectural designers, Michael Ford, "The Hip Hop Architect" and Design Justice advocate Bryan Lee will discuss the cultural and colloquial implications of architecture in the built environment through the lens of Hip Hop Culture and Design Justice. Focusing on the intersection of theory and practice, we will explore hip hop as a revolutionary approach to understanding, conceiving, and generating architecture for a just city. Showing these processes in action, Ford will share the unique, cross disciplinary design process, Hip Hop Architecture, used during his design of The Universal Hip Hop Museum and Lee will share instances of design justice via his pavilions located in New Orleans.
